Goodnight Mommy (Ich seh, Ich seh) [2014]: Tuesday October 12th
A masterclass in slow-burn, psychological tension. This Austrian thriller is a chilling, artfully crafted descent into madness and grief that brilliantly flips the script on who the “monster” really is.The film follows two twin boys who welcome their mother home after reconstructive facial surgery. With her head wrapped in bandages and her demeanor suddenly cold and distant, the boys grow deeply suspicious that she is an imposter.

Das Boot [1981]: Tuesday November 10th
Widely considered the greatest submarine film ever made, Das Boot offers an agonizingly realistic, claustrophobic look at warfare. Unlike typical Hollywood war movies, it doesn’t glorify combat; rather, it humanizes the crew, forcing you to empathize with them regardless of their uniform. Das Boot is seen as one of the greatest German films ever made and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for director Wolfgang Petersen.
